Question:
Has anyone ever changed ins. companies after all pre-op testing has been completed?

If anyone has every changed insurance companies due to an exclusion after all pre-op testing has been completed, please let me know what ins. company you changed to and was there a waiting period for coverage.    — LISA O. (posted on September 6, 2002)

Hi. My answer isn't exactly what your looking for, but it might help. I was with Aetna US Healthcare for 2 years before I quit my job. Afterward, I was put on my husband's insurance policy with Blue Cross Blue Shield of DE (approx. 10 days after Aetna policy ended). I was all ready to get a surgery date and BCBS said that this was an existing problem and that they weren't going to pay for it. I called them and they said as long as I could prove that I had previous insurance they would cover it. My surgery is on 9/30/02 and they are paying!! Good Luck.
