Question:
How do you STOP from Losing, If at your ideal weight, you will continue to go UNDER ?
I really don't know, but wonder how you will be able to STOP from losing if you are at your ideal weight. I know it sounds silly to ask this from me. I plan to have the surgery, but I just filed my 1st appeal with insurance, so I am waiting back for approval. I am also looking for new friends out there who could help me with some concerns also. — Jenny B. (posted on August 17, 2002)

Jenny, it seems that the body just knows when to stop. I have no idea how
though. I started at 280, went down to 112 which was way below what I
wanted and bounced back now to 120 with alot of help from the doctors.
There are meds that can help you also if you are losing too much but it
seems that many of us lose alittle more than we wanted to only to gain back
about 10 pounds of it to put us at a good weight. Good luck in your
appeal. Barb

Jenny....The female body needs 10 calories/lb. to maintain weight. When we
weigh alot,we know we eat alot. A 220 female will get 2,200 calories a day
just to maintain her weight. For every extra 3,500 calories she takes in,
she will gain a pound. By the same token, when she eats 3,500 less she
will lose a pound. A 120 lb. female needs only 1200 calories/day. Add
exercise and she'll can have more calories. As we loose we are going to
require less calories. There will be a happy balance found as we near
goal......By the way, men need 11 calories a pound to maintain, they get
more food!

I would'nt worry about being able to stop losing as you near goal. It gets
progressivly harder to lose as we get near goal anyway.
