Anyone had Dr, Anez in VA

Has anyone been successful in VA with either one of these insurance companies with a bmi of 42 or so with Dr. Anez and Cigna PPO or Cigna POS    — Saphya S. (posted on August 10, 2002)

[My opinion: William Roll is the best WLS doctor, in my book, in the geographical area as Dr. Anez. I was treated by Dr. Anez while Dr. Roll was out of town so have experience with both physicians. Dr. Roll insists upon a structured followup and his incredible staff far surpasses other surgeons' -- Barbara and Anita are your advocates with the insurance companies and with the whole process -- I was approved within one week!] Good news: in Virginia, you cannot be denied insurance coverage for WLS with a BMI over 40, with or without co-mobidities. Any resistance from your insurance company and you should promptly contact the Virginia Insurance Commissioner. Best wishes for a rewarding journey! CJ
