Question:
does AdvoCare contain ephedra?
I heard that AdvoCare contains ephedra, but I cannot seem to find much info. on this drug. I know that if you're a distribitor you're not even supposed to advertise on the internet and they have actually closed down people's websites. What are they hiding? I have someone at work now trying to push this on me, and would like some input. Thanks — Terri Z. (posted on July 24, 2002)

Hi Terri...
I do know that some AdvoCare does contain Ephedra. They have come out with
a new one that is Ephedra free. I believe it's the Platinum box. My best
friend is a distributor, so I know what you're going through with it being
pushed on you at work, but if I were you I would steadfastly decline just
like I did. You have a surgery date!!! You don't need these fly-by-night
supplements that cost an arm and a leg to keep you healthy!!!

Yes, Advocare does contain ephedra. I went to a distributors meeting last
year. If you ask detailed questions regarding ingredients, they just tell
you "I don't know but it sure makes me feel good". They are very
secretive about everything. I would be careful with Advocare, just make
sure that you research each product and become educated about all of the
ingredients before you take them
Regarding ephedra, if you are overweight and have high blood pressure be
careful because ephedra can raise your blood pressure even more or cause to
have high blood pressure. I even think it was banned in professional sports
due to the problems it can cause in the heart, with the racing heart and
heart attacks. I think that it was one of the Minnesota Vikings that died
last summer after taking aproduct with ephedra for weight loss.
