Question:
Has anyone had a revision after abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia repair?
I had an open RNY 15 months ago. I am down 133 lbs. I still have at least 65 lbs to go. This past February I had abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia repair, the surgeon put in a large piece of mesh...I had so many hernias he stopped counting...they were all along my RNY incision. Just this June 28th I had my gallbladder removed, it had to be done open because of the mesh that was put in! I have not lost any weight for many months and am wondering if I need a revision of some sorts, but not sure if this has ever been done with someone who has the mesh. I am frightened that I will not loose any longer and will regain my weight. Before this last surgery I exercised 4 days a week, aerobic walking with hand weights and I rode my recumbent bike 3 days a week. Can anyone help me with this? Penny — Nancy H.
