Question:
Submiting paperwork to insurance...How long does it take??
I attended Dr. Webers mandatory seminar in March. At this seminar packets were passed out that needed to be completed prior to your first consultation with the Doctor (Psych Eval...Physical...Diet History...etc, etc). You couldn't see Dr. Weber until this packet was completed. I had my first consult in May and Dr. Weber said all was in order and the next step would be to submit to my insurance for Authorization. I've been contacting my insurance regularly and they still have not received anything from Dr. Webers office. So my question is: It's been nearly two months...How long should this take for the paperwork to be submitted? — K D. (posted on July 7, 2002)

I'd call your doctor's office and ask if they submitted it yet and find out
what they haven't. It should only take a couple of weeks at most for a
doctor's office to submit the paperwork to the insurance company. I'd also
tell them that you'd like to know the day the paperwork is sent in so that
you can follow up with the insurance company. This lets them know that
your not going to sit quietly and wait.

I would stay on your Dr's office, I can't see any reason for it to take
that long, I called EVERYDAY and they submitted mine on the 5th day and my
insurance approved me in 4 hours. Good luck!
