Question:
Can anyone please show me pictures of lap-rny scars? I've looked and can't find any
pictures of the lap-rny surgery. My surgeon believes lap would be better for me and I just want to know what the incisions looked like. Thanks! — Belinda S. (posted on June 26, 2002)

Belinda, I don't have pictures of my scars, but they are five thumbnail
length slits; two on my left side under the rib cage, one under the
sternum, one above the belly button and one opn the right side under the
ribcage. I am 7 weeks out and they are fading fast. It sure beats a 10
inch vertical scar from an open RNY and you won't believe how fast you'll
recover. Good luck to you!

I have no pictures. I also have 5 scars and am 5 mo post op. $ of the five
can be covered with the first joint of my index finger. The last one which
is the largest can be covered with a joint and 1/2. They are fading into
oblivion. I think this is the skill of my surgeon.

I cannot even find three of my 7 little scars. I had 7 because I had two
drains as my gall bladder was removed during surgery. Each had 2-4 staples
in it.

I have a picture and I circled the scars with a marker so you can see them
better. They are pretty much gone and I'm just under 5 months post op. I'll
try to email it to you now!
