Question:
Has anyone been on hmo had doctor but hospital where he does surgery not in network?

I have a doctor that orginnally had 3 hospitals he worked out of. One hospital had problem with equipment(sanitary),2nd hospital pulled his privledges due to fact that insurance co did not pay hospital for his services. Last hospital was type-o in directory. How do I get around out of network since that is the only hospital now that he uses?    — P.J. S. (posted on June 17, 2002)

Some insurance companies will let you file the claim if there is certain criteria met...

Some insurance companies will let you file the claim if there is certain criteria met...for Aetna since there was not a surgeon within 150 miles in the network, they allowed me to submit. Due to time restraints I switched Dr.'s but at least they were willing to hear my story...
