Question:
What product did you use for the bowel prep.?
I know that they are all gross but was wondering if I could do the Fleets Fospha Soda instead of the Magnesium drink. I could hardly get a whole bottle in last surgery. I am supposed to do 2 bottles for this surgery. I also have a thing of golytely. Anybody? — Cinna G. (posted on June 8, 2002)

I am still pre-op but my Dr prescribes golytely. The only comment I have
heard on the different flavor was from my friend Kim who had to take it,
she tried lemon lime and said she does not think she can ever do a
margarita again! LOL

Cinda: Let's face it -- they are all yucky! I used Golytely (Black Cherry
flavor). It was all I could do to get it down. I just kept telling myself
"Drink this 'cause tomorrow is going to be the first day of the rest
of your life!"

Magnesium Citrate in pleasing lemon/lime...still nasty but chugged really
cold makes it taste like a really bitter sprite with lots of
carbonation...buy lots of TP!!!

Is that the little green bottle? You take half with 8 oz water now, and
repeat in 12 hours? I used that for my c-scope and it was a LOT easier
than any other prep I've done before. Didn't bother my pouch, didn't taste
all that bad, and didn't cause any cramping or anything like that.

My surgeon actually recommended the Fleets phospha soda. It isn't the best
tasting thing in the world, but it was much easier to get down than a whole
bottle of mag-citrate. Best of luck on you surgery - C.
