I stick with 6g of sugar per 30g drink. That would include the liquid + powder. I use water for my "mixer", but sometimes put the s/f latte syrups in for variety. But I LOVE mine straight, ice + water = 32g protein and 0g sugar. YUM!

Suzanne, I use a Soy Protein calles "Soy Protein Isolate Powder" I got mine from Vitamin World in a local mall. It costs $16.98 for 27 servings and 0g sugars, and only 1g carb, and 25g of protein. It don't taste bad so I use two shakes, one in the morning and one in the evening. Hope this helps. Andrea (5 weeks post op)

Try vitalady.com she has some good stuff and you can buy samples for 2 bucks each. I ordered like 20 and have tried 3 since surgery on 9/17/2002. So far the creamsicle was best and the vanilla was worst, but that could be from what I mixes it with(diet A&W rootbeer). Stay away from sugar as much as possible probably not over 6gms per serving, but o is better.

I just got done speaking to the nutritionist the other day and she said also to take into factor if you are going to drink the whole serving in one sitting. But she said 15mg is the most before you are pushing the envelop and possibly opening yourself up to a possible dumping situation. So, I'm going to try to stay as close to 0 as possible.

Slim Fast Meal - 1 gram of sugar (Straberries and Cream is my favorite)and 20 grams of protein with 2 carbs. I sip 1/2 of the can and save the other 1/2 for later to prevent dumping. You get a lot of nutrition and it is sold everywhere.

Suzanne, I think I have found the answer to your problem. It is EAS ADVANT EDGE Look for the Carb Control kind. They have 1 gram of carbs,15 grams of protein, and 0 grams of sugar! Each one is 100 calories. It comes in the usual 3 flavors which I find to be too rich and sweet so I add an equal amount of 1% milk to mine which gives me even more protein. I drink one of these per day and then I mix grapefruit juice and unflavored protein powder (Whey) with an electric mixer for 20 more grams of protein in the evening. The advant edge is available at Wal-Mart or Sams. The unflavored protein powder is available at Health Food Stores, but I found it alot cheaper on line.(Vita Cost.com) Hope this helps . Good Luck!
