Pre-psych evaluation: What kind of questions are going to be asked at the pre-pysch evaluation? I am not overly concerned, just a bit nervous. — Kelly X. (posted on May 19, 2002)

Don't worry about the psych testing. Just answer the questions honestly.
Don't try and lie and fool it because somehow they know. I worked for
psychologists for years and gave 100's of these tests. You will answer
lots of questions but very few are important. The test is looking to see
if you are consistent. It will ask the same questions in different ways
several times. They are looking to see if you answer the same way all the
time. They don't ask anything hard. Mostly do you like your mother, do
you see UFO's. They want to see if you are delusional and if you are being
honest. Really, don't sweat it. It's a piece of cake. The other part
will be an interview with the doctor who will want to know if you
understand what you are doing, what your support system will be, and your
life history. It really isn't anything to worry about. Email me if you
have any other questions. Good luck.

My psych evaluation (you can find my posting in Q&A with the word
Mancusso) was a hoot!!! I am a Christian who answered all of the questions
honestly on my MMPI-2. Results weren't even close to being me! I am
pollyannish and naive --- but aren't all Christians who are answering
secular tests????? Bottom line is they said no barriers to surgery.
That's all I really cared about --- that and the nice laugh I've had this
morning as I cynically grabbed another cup of coffee and went to see what
my bosses were up to this time.............
