Question:
Does anyone know the original size of the opening from your stomach to intestines?

I know the norm for bypass is somewhere around 11, I am trying to find the size before a bypass.    — J B. (posted on May 9, 2002)

I could be way off here, but from what I understand, it wasn't the size that mattered:~) Really, we had a pyloric valve that opened and shut to control the food flow. It wasn't the size of the outlet that had that control. And they like to have the stoma at around 8-12. Anything smaller can be harder to deal with, and anything larger and the food goes right through. I hope this helps some, and I would like someone to confirm what I have said.
