Question:
Are there any Canadians here who have gone to the US for surgery?

I just had an appointment with a doctor who will make the recommendation to OHIP that they approve the funding for bariatric surgery. One of the questions asked was if delaying this operation would be life-threatening--and because I have a myriad of things wrong, like high blood pressure--he indicated it would. Bariatric surgery in Ontario has a 5 year waiting list! Ohip has had a pretty good approval rate. The doc says it takes about three weeks to get the answer about approval.
