Question:
I have suvere shaking in my legs and arms whenever I try to do any physical.
I am 8 weeks (tomorrow) post-op. Yesterday I was trying to clean up my houe a little, but was hampered by, not only lack of energy, but this severe shaking in my legs and arms. I was having no muscle pain, so that lead me to beleive it was perhaps something to do with the nervous system ( I recently read that WLS can cause nervous system problems) I felt like I was walking on wobbly stilts. I didn't fall or anything, so my muscles were deffinately supporting me. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. — Sandra C. (posted on May 5, 2002)

Hi Sandra
I'm Pre-op...but I've experienced the same sensations. Usually it's low
blood sugar. I get engrossed with a task at work and lose track of time
and I get up to walk to the copy room and only walk a few feet when I feel
like my legs are ready to give out. It really is the strangest feeling.
So at that point I make the time to stop and eat lunch. I'm always better
immediately after getting a little something in my stomach. Perhaps it's
something similar with you. But to be on the safe side you may want to
call your Dr. and ask a question--just to be sure. Anyway, hope that
helps.

Of course, I say call your doctor. I wonder, though, if you might not be
dehydrated. I sometimes get those symptoms when I haven't consumed enough
water. Good luck to you. OPEN RNY 7/17/01, -95, 42 to go.

Hello, I just had this the other day. I went out and mowed and weed wacked
my entire yard. I felt all wobbly and shaky. I was out in the hot sun and
hadn't had any water. I bet you need to drink a little water and eat a
little snack. fruit is good. I bet both the previous posters were right
and it is dehydration and low blood sugar.
