Question:
I am in need of finding a good family dr in Millville NJ - Help Please

I am post ob 3 weeks and my family dr told me she is agaist this surgery . She told me I needed mental therapy for eating not surgery and that i was seting myself up for failure. I had RNY lap on 3/4 and I felt so depressed when i left there yesterday. She felt that this surgery should not even be legal. I feel in need to find a dr that is more understanding so if there is anyone out there in cumberland county in sth Jersey pleasssssssss help me    — sallie P. (posted on April 24, 2002)

Hi Sallie. I was raised in Millville and still have many friends and family members there. I will make a few phone calls in the morning and see what their recommendations for doctors are. Sounds like your family doctor needs to go back to school and get a bit more education on this procedure. Take care and hang in there. I'll post again when I have some info.

Hi Again. Sorry it took so long (and I still only have half an answer) but here's what I've got. I have one girlfriend who swears by Dr. Donald Huston. He's at Cumberland Medical Associates, 608 N. High Street. Phone # is 453-8225. Now, another girlfriend says she doesn't care much for Huston, she likes Dr. Charles Mintz. He's at 10 E. Broad Street. I don't have his phone # but I'm sure it's listed. Personally, I'm familiar with Dr. Mintz and believe that he may be a good choice. He's a little older and is very easy going. I doubt he'd be judgemental about your choice of weight loss surgery. I can't speak about Dr. Huston, he's new since I lived in the Millville area. I have a couple of other people who are getting me the 411 on local doctors -- hopefully I'll have some more choices for you to check into in the next few days.
