Question:
Are post-ops having had VBN surgery happy with their results?

I am researching surgery and would like to know if post ops having had VBN surgery are happy with the results of the operation or wish that they had opted for the RNY surgery for greater/more permanent results? Your imput is greatly appreciated!    — Marie W. (posted on April 14, 2002)

What is the VBN? I have not heard about that. Do you mean VBG?

If you are talking about the VBG....the results are not greater or more permanent with the RNY. Do thorough, educated research - you will find great successes AND failures with BOTH procedures... I had OpenVBG 10 months ago, starting at 340 lbs, and I have lost 142 lbs...gone from 5X and size 30 pants, to size 12 ladies....blood pressure is now normal, blood-sugar returned to normal....life is GOOD and I feel and look GREAT!!!
