Tina
I am 5'9" weighed 396 before surgery now weigh 273. Doesnt matter
whether you weigh more or your taller you will still loose. I'm almost 6
months post op. I havent reached my goal as of yet but im determined to do
it. Also with this you will have plateaus that your body has to catch up
with what it has already lost. Feel free to read my profile. Happy Easter!

Okay, so I am an inch shorter at 5'8" and large framed. I started at
463 on 3/31/94 and am 190 today. I am wearing a size sm/med blouse and
10/12 dress, 14 pants (my remaining weight is in the hips and thighs) My
surgeon set my goal at 185 which is about 20% higher than the insurance
charts because I have been morbidly obese my entire life. My bones are very
dense and I have a lot of excess skin that will need to be surgically
removed. I do believe that you can reach an ideal weight if you go with a
realistic ideal weight. My surgeon told me never to expect to see 155-165
lbs unless I have a total body lift....So, my own goal was 1 anything. At
8 yrs post op, I know I will get to 185 soon. Good luck Rita in Vermont

I am 5 9 - started at 334 - I am just over 10 months and have lost 130 lbs
- I am stuck right now at 204 - but know it will come off.....I jus read a
profile of a lady who was our height and around the same starting weight
and have got down to like 127lbs - so it is possible to do it.....I have
been exercising 5 to 6 days a week but this is only my second week of doing
it religiously - they told me at the gym to give to it at least 4 weeks and
I should see results..I will let you know if I get there - right now I am
just trying to get in the 100's :) - if I can find that ladies name I will
come back and let you know

I am 5'9 1/2" and weighed 407 on my surgery date. I am 13 months
post-op and have lost 171 lbs. I am now 236. I am still in the
"overweight" category but out of the morbidly obese category.
Doctor says I should make it down to about 190 in the next 6-12 months.

My mom is 6'2". I don't know exactly what she weighed as a pre-op,
but she was in a size 28/30. In any case, it is almost 2 years later and
she is in a size 16/18 top and 18/20 bottom. She has really bad arthritis
in her knees, but I think had she exercised more and done some weight
training, she might have gone down even more. Still could... But she
looks great!!!

I am 5'9 & weighed 350 when I had my open rny two years ago. I lost
175# the first year, gained back 5# & have settled there at 180. I
really eat whatever I want, can have almost unlimited sugar, etc. I am
officially 15# over my goal weight, but am having a TT tomorrow which will
help some. Also, in truth, I'm sure I would lose a few pounds if I worked
at it, but I feel so great right where I am that if I can just get 5 or so
pounds off, I will be quite happy.
