Does Protein aid in your weight loss?
Ive heard alot of people say that when they started to slow with their weight loss they added lots of protein. — Summersect (posted on March 21, 2002)

It helped me. I had a two month plateau when I went carb crazy. I upped
protein to 100 grams a day and went on to lose the rest of the weight. I
also added a protein bar in the morning that helped curb my sweet cravings.
May have been coincidental--I may have come off the plateau anyway. But I
think I feel better when I eat more protein. Maybe it only works if your
plateau is due to excess carb consumption. Who knows? I don't think anybody
REALLY knows for sure how this stuff works!

Another reason for the high protein, low carb approach is Ketosis. It is a
metabolic state that is produced when few carbs are taking in and our
bodies burn stored bodyfat as fuel. The high protein keeps your body strong
and your hunger down, and the low carbs causes the body to burn the stored
fat instead of the excess carbs being used as instant fuel for your daily
activities
