Question:
Has anyone on Medicare in Indianapolis found a Surgeon?

Has anyone on Medicare in Indianapolis found a Surgeon who will accept it, or at least WAIT until your paperwork had been submitted before denying or discouraging? This has been an absolute nightmare! I read all the time here that ppl who are disabled, are able to get this surgery. My problem is the first Surgeon after consultating with me later decided not to accept any more Medicare patients. Time and energy was wasted and had I not called I would not have known decided not to perform anymore on Medicare patients. My paperwork was never sent in. I then sought out another Surgeon, his assistant told me Medicare does not pay for this Surgery or at least she has not had any luck with them paying. Medicare claims they do pay for this... I feel like I am getting the run around. They want me to pay, yep I always keep that kind of cash lying around! LOL I have heard that you sign an agreement promising to pay if Medicare does not pay. What is so discouraging is I feel I am being turned down before my paperwork can even been sent in. This happened the first time and it looks like it may happen the second. Is there anyone on Medicare going thru this now? I do not mean those who had it awhile back..since it seems either the Medicare laws have changed, or Surgeons just do not want to do this on Medicare patients. they do and the doctors are great. i had my surgery the 10 of jan and doing great. laurie
