Lots of luck. I didnt know what this meant for a long time. There are many
initial things on the internet you never see in real in print anywhere
else.

Actually, I always thought it meant "Laugh Out Loud" I use it all
the time. If you notice, people usually write LOL when they write something
funny! My dad is a computer addict and he knows all the acronyms, he says
it's definately Laugh Out Loud. Also, there is ROTFLMAO which is
"Rolling on the Floor Laughing Laughing My A-- OFF" among many
other variations. I do like Bob's explanation as well, although I think
that's more like when you are signing a Hallmark card or something... :)
LOL!

There's a great website called www.acronymfinder.com. It has hundres of
acronyms and their explanations. It's actually kind of fun to just go and
play around with it.

I don't agree that it stands for Lots Of Luck...it stands for Laughing Out
Loud. If you go to any chat room, you'll notice that if it meant lots of
luck, it wouldn't make sense at all. It's Laughing Out Loud. BTW is By
The Way, OMG is Oh My God...

LOL! Internet abbreviations...there's a whole bunch of them that are used.
BTW = by the way, IMHO = in my humble opinion, rofl = roll on floor
laughing... Took me a long time to figure them out and I had to ask too!
