Question:
I was just told I have gall stones...now what?
Ijust started researching ad getting my evals done, and went to get an ultrasound and they told me i got the stones. i'm in no pain- but what does this mean as far as surgery? (no date-haven't even met with the surgeon yet) — Vicki B. (posted on February 12, 2002)

Most obese people DO have gallstones, or gallbladder disease, and
especially over the age of 40. AND, most
surgeons remove the gallbladder at the time of WLS anyway....

Vicky, I am 5 weeks post-op and had my gall baldder removed during WLS
surgery. Make sure you ask your doctor if this is your only option. Your
recovery will be a little tougher than someone who just has WLS. Good luck
to you.
