Question:
Can someone tell me a good method for getting in my liquid 64oz.?
I used to love to drink water but now I am finding it very hard to get in all my water. It's seems easier for me to get in things with flavor like diet iced tea etc. I also have to wait 90 minutes after each meal, so that makes it hard as well. Why do I not like water now and how can I get in 64oz.of liquids? — Nicole F. (posted on February 11, 2002)

I didn't have RNY but the VG. Restrictive surgery only. I also had trouble
with water. My doc. says any liquid as long as it is decaf. counts towards
your 64 oz. liquid. That would mean any broth, jello, decaf. coffee, decaf.
tea. I also use Challenge Pre-Digested Liquid Protein in Wild Cherry
flavor. I mix 3 TBSP. with 33 oz. (whatever that size water is from Deer
Park/tap water now that I saved the bottle) of water and a packet of sweet
n'low and it tastes sort of like Koolaid. My doc. also told me at first
since I could not stomach water at all to get no sugar added fruit juice
and really water it down just to give it a little different taste and try
it not real cold. That helped. I am 3 months post op tomorrow and can
finally enjoy my regular water now. Hope this helps! Happy losing :)

That was a problem for me too. That's when I discovered Crystal
Light...all those yummy flavors. I'd sip on it all day. Sugar free
popsicles are good way to get water too. Why do you have to wait
90 minutes after meals to drink? That seems a bit ezcessive. I was told
not to drink 30 minutes beore and after meals. I don't know why; but,
it's
fairly common for posst-ops to lose their taste for water. I loved ice
water
before my surgery, but after my rny, I couldn't stand the taste of plain
water...
even spring water. Weird...really weird.
