How early should I expect weight loss I'm 5 days postop?

Almost immediately, but you likely gained water weight while in the
hospital. They pump us up with liquids to be sure we are well hydrated, and
many of us gain 5 pounds or more when we get out of the hospital. This gain
will drop fast!

It will come very soon. My advice however, is STAY AWAY from the scales for
a while. I am almost four months out and only wieght once every two weeks.
I don't even have a scale at home. It can be very discouraging if the scale
does not move. So don't become a slave to it. Good luck and God bless.

I'm 15 days post-op and I had my 2 week follow-up appt. yesterday and I was
down 17 lbs. My first week I felt like I hadn't lost a pound but during
the second week it just seemed to start dropping off. Don't worry it will
happen how can it help but happen. Good luck.

I had my one week (really 8 days) post op appt today. I am 30 yrs old,
5'4" and 261. Well not any more. I lost 21 lbs. I'm now 240. So,
I'd say you should see a difference within the first week. Good luck to
you!
