Hi! I will be curious too to see how you make out with Carefirst. I have
been waiting on an appeal 5.5 wks. So please let me know how it turns out.
To answer your question though, estimates I have heard for the surgery go
anywhere from 17,000 to 25,000 or more. So that might give you a ballpark
area. Maybe too you can work out a deal with your Doctor to accept what
they pay or just slightly more. Good luck to you.

I also have Carefirst through local union 80/20. My upfront out of pocket
was $1125.00. $125.00 of that was my deductible because I have now gone
into a new year. The finance coordinator at the department of surgery told
me that amount was very low compared to 6 or 7 thousand most have to pay
upfront. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning and I won't be back
to my computer before Monday but if I can halp with any other information
let me know.
