Question:
RNY - Distal or Proximal - I need details on each, good and bad?

The difference between Distal and Proximal is the amount of intestine
bypassed. I think the distal bypasses more. The more of the intestine
bypassed, the more malabsorption there is. Which is best for you is
something only you and your doctor can decide.

Proximal is up to 100cm's bypassed and Distal is 150cm's or more bypassed.
I didn't have a choice as to how much... my surgeon just does 150cm's as
his standard practice and only does more in rare cases.
