Question:
Does insurance approval expire?
Hi, I'm working on getting insurance approval now, before I schedule anything (consult or surgery) since I am an out of state patient and I don't want to make more than one long trip. My question is, is it okay that I'm trying to get approval in January/February and I won't have surgery until May/Early June? I just don't want to get there and have them tell my its expired! I need to do this though so I can make sure insurance will pay (for some of it) so I can start saving money to pay for what it won't pay (it's an 80/20 PPO). Thanks! — [Anonymous] (posted on January 15, 2002)

Mine did expire but all it took was a phone call from the doctor requesting
an extension and nothing more.
