Question:
What is a broken blood vein?

It feels like a wasp sting on my leg, when I look, it is already a huge purple bruise. This happened a week ago, the bruise is faded but tonight the spot hurts when I walk. Mom tells me a blood vein broke, I get this about once evey two years or so. Can this be related in any way to blood clots of the leg? I am pre-op, BMI 42-ish. Thanks everyone!    — Sandra E. Is it hot to the touch? My Mom had this same thing, but it was hot when we touched it. It was a blood clot from her varicose veins. Please check with a doctor. In my Mom's case, it wasn't the type of blood clot that travels to the major organs.
