Getting to your goal weight is so possible. I started at 469 and now weigh
146.5. I don't know about everyone else but what works for me is water,
water and more water. I am 16 months post op and I am still losing a
pound a week. Try drinking more and increasing your protein. I started
eating alot of pistachio nuts and I lost 2 1/2 pounds last week. You are
doing fantastic. Keep up the good work.

Hi! I am 5 months post op, and was stuck with my weight loss. I had
dropped a tremendous amount of weight in the first four months but stopped
all this month, the fifth. I had gotten off the protein shakes, and wasn't
drinking all the water I should have been, and I was getting bummed big
time. I have 80 lbs to go, and thought I'm not going to lose another
pound!! AHHH!! So I upped my protein intake over 80 grms and started water
loading, and today I put on a pair of pants that were tight on me two weeks
ago, and they were LOOSE!! I did start the protein shakes again, and I
feel that they are the reason for the weight loss. Some people don't agree
with the shakes, but I was finding it impossible to get in that much
protein, with food. I also notice now that with the increase in protein, I
don't want to raid the fridge either. Well I've rambled here, lol, my
point, up your water, and protein :)

It sounds like you are doing really great!!! You have just hit a plateau
which means your body is taking a bit of a breather before it starts in
losing again. My surgeon said that you continue to lose weight for the
first 2 years following WLS and at 10 months you still have another 14
months to go. He said you will loose anywhere from 5 to 15 pounds a month
after the initial big loss during the first two months and that in the
beginning the loss will be closer to 15 pounds a month and will then taper
down to around 10 pounds a month (at around 4-6 months post) and will then
go down to around 5 pounds a month as you get into your second year of your
journey. Most people average around 8-12 pounds a month from around 4
months to 14 months and then slow down a bit after that if they haven't hit
their "goal" weight yet. Just remember that plateaus will come
and they will go... just be patient and up the water, protein and change
the type of exercise you are doing (go from walking to riding a bike, or
weight toning to walking). Sometimes a different exercise routine shakes
things up and gets things moving again! Good luck and keep up the great
work!
