Question:
Female Issues- Dont want to be disgusting but---------
Ok.... So I finally got my period, like a Christmas miracle just for me! Im 5.5 weeks out, and the cramps and BM are AWFUL! I used to get bad BM with my periods when getting them w/o provera, so could this be normal? I have read other questions and answers so I know that the cramps will be bad. (going to try the celebrex tonight) The BM are hurting me so bad, that since Christmas Eve I cant eat w/o the flushes and shakes. I thought it was the sugar at first ( I have never dumped before this ) but today I went to have a soft boiled egg and I had to sleep the rest of the afternoon away. What can I do to make it better? I can not afford to take the afternoons off. =D Also, does anyone know why this happens? Thanks for listening. <--- lightweight down ~25lbs at 5 weeks Lap. — Rachel *. (posted on December 26, 2001)

Hi Rachel! I had surgery the same day as you, and have the same problems.
I've found that curling up with a heating pad helps. As for the BM's, have
you tried Mytlanta or anything? Often helps... just remember don't push!
Email me if you want to talk! [email protected] Good Luck!

As I had a hysterectomy about 5 years ago, I'm sorry, but I don't have any
advice to offer you regarding the discomfort during your cycle (although a
heating pad always used to work wonders for me). My concern is that you
mentioned the Celebrex. Please be aware that one of the possible
side-effects of this medication is intestinal bleeding. I found out the
hard way - after being sick at my stomach for a week with no cause in
sight..went to PCP who did stool samples and found out I was bleeding
internally. Stopped the Celebrex and the condition cleared up immediately.
Which sort of bummed me out, because it was the first time I'd found a
medication that actually WORKED on my arthritis pain. Good luck...
