Michelle, I had my surgery on the same day as you. My weightloss stopped
for about 3-4 weeks. I even flucuated between loosing 3lbs. and gaining it
back. For 3-4 weeks. I just stepped on the scale yesterday and I'd lost
5lbs. So don't worry your weight loss will start back up again. Drink more
water and eat more protein and that should break your plateau.
Congradulations on your weight loss. Your doing great!

It sounds like you are doing really great!!! Everyone hits plateaus and
unfortunately they will come and go. Most people I talk to say they hit
their first one at right around 3 months post... I did, I was on my plateau
for almost 4 weeks, but then one day I got on the scale and found that I
had lost 6 pounds. The weight gain can be from a number of different
things... are you excercising more so that the muscle you are building up
is outweighing the fat that is dropping off? Are you pre-menstrual (if you
are female)? Have you upped your liquids and are possibly retaining water?
Don't get discourage!!! In fact, when I thought I was going to lose my
mind over not losing the pounds, I got out my tape measure and measured
myself. I had lost a total of 20 inches in a month! My surgeon told me
that plateaus are a way for your body to stop and take a breath. It has to
re-group and re-arrange things in preperation for the next amount of weight
loss. Hang in there and have faith that your body is doing what it needs
to do and that you WILL continue to lose the weight! Take care!!!
