Question:
Has anyone heard of a new and upcoming procedure called Gastric Pacing?

My surgeon was one of a handful of surgeons approved by the FDA to
participate in the clinical trials for gastric pacing during the past year.
I'm sure that information on this procedure could be obtained from his
office: Dr. J.K. Champion, Marietta,

I have heard of this procedure recently. It would be nice if it worked, but
it is in its very early clinical trials. That means that they don't know if
it really works at all yet, and that it will probably take at least 10
years to find out if it works long-term. I don't know about you, but if
they are going to operate on me anyway, I would rather have something that
has been proven to work.

But does anyone know what the procedure is and how it works? Merry
Christmas,

I have read a lot about it. It is very similar to the pacemaker, except it
zaps your stomach. Frankly, I don't think it will be effective. I
wouldn't want to be opened up ever 4 years to change betteries, either.
From what I read, they are starting to use it over seas now and starting
the long drawn out process to get it approved for use in the U.S.
