Question:
Weight loss is starting to slow down. Will it pick back up?

I am 8 mos post op from RNY. I started out at 300 lbs and have only lost 105 lbs. I have been losing about 10 lbs a month. I have about 4 more months before my year anniversary. I was wondering if my weight loss will pick back up if I exercise regularly and eat properly or will this be all I lose? Is it possible to continue losing past your year anniversary?    — Kelly W. Most folks loose a average of 70% of the amount they are overweight by in the first year, with slight loss after that. Now you say ONLY 105 pounds. Thats a awesome loss. Pre op would you have believed it possible? I am confused, your profile says you have lost 135 pounds. But your post here says 105. In any case sticking to the rules can help you loose more. As my doc says the last 30 pounds you need to loose is YOUR job. He handles the first 100 or more for us.

Bob, to clarify, I have lost 105 and not the 135 on my profile. I hit the 3 instead of the 0. I sure wish it was 135. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. AND, Thank you for answering my question. Kelley.

I am 15 months post op and I am still losing at least 7 pounds a month. They key for me is and always has been water, water and more water. The more I drink the more I lose. Sometimes I have to increase my food intake and my amount of protein. This always jumpstarts my weight loss again. I had an open distal RNY and have lost 319 pounds in 15 months. I drink at least 100 oz. of water a day. I hope this helps you.
