Question:
Does winter affect your progress?
I'm in Wisconsin and it's starting to get cold. Did anyone notice significant difference in the rate they were dropping weight in the winter compared to the summer? I'm afraid winter will eat up my "window of opportunity" and not make the most of it? I know most people gain in the winter, this is why I'm asking and my weight loss has slowed drastically. I dont know since this is my first winter as a post op. It probably makes
sense, short days, long nites, give everyone fewer hours of real activity.
I would join a gym or try to be more active in other ways.

I'm also in Wisconsin, I'm wondering the same thing. I'm 4 months post-op
and have only 2 months of the honeymoon left, which will be some of the
worst of Wisconsin weather.
If anything, maybe look at outdoor exercising like ice skating or cross
country skiing. I'm going to give those another shot now that if I fall I
can get back up again! Go to the gym, take up swimming -- something that
you won't be able to do at home and something that you like to do. I notice
that having the exercise equipment at home makes me want to stay home, but
it doesn't make me want to exercise necessarily. Also the money involved
with joining the Y for example makes me feel guilty so I go to the gym to
get my money's worth.
I think being aware of the pitfalls of cold weather and Wisconsin (sitting
around the house hybernating, eatin' brats & fried cheese curds,
watching the Pack) will make it easier to avoid them!
BTW, I do eat brats, but Turkey Store brand only! (I miss the fried cheese
curds though.)
