Question:
Does anyone have an insurance letter that I can send to the Medical Director
I need assistance creating a real bleeding heart, serious and valid letter for the medical director of my medical group. Something that puts all my concerns of a psychological, medical and legal nature in a concise format. Can anyone help? I've tried reaching Lindstrom, but they have been real inconsistent, I can't even get materials mailed to me and I don't have a fax. — A V. (posted on October 8, 2001)

Sorry, but the insurance company does not care about your emotional
anguish. A "bleeding heart" letter might do more harm than good.
When it comes to wls, many insurers want assurance that the people
they approve have the emotional strenght and maturity to understand
the risks and to comply with lifelong diet and exersize changes and the
need for lifelong medical follow-up. A "bleeding heart" letter
could
make you look emotionally fragile and a poor candidate. Outline your
medical
reasons for requiring wls and be sure to chronical all of your failed
attempts to lose weight.
