Excellent question...I've often wondered the same thing! I too can
tolerate sweets (sometimes too well!), and I guess I'd like to hear that
they just wash away!!! But I know that's just wishful thinking! I'll pay
for it in the end...

Excercise!!!! Just what you wanted to hear right! :) But seriously, sweets
are very high in sugars, which are broken down into ATP through respiration
to make energy for the body. If the energy is used (i.e. excercise) it will
be burnt off, otherwise it will turn into fat to be stored. However small
amounts shouldn't be too much of a problem, as your body uses many calories
for everyday tasks such as breathing, walking and talking, but if you go
over your recommended calorie intake, then excercise!!!!!! :) I use a gym
that has programs on the machines, you enter your weight and height and
have your heart monitored throughout, and the machine tells you based on
these and your pace etc. how many calories you are burning. If I ate
something I shouldn't I won't get off the machine until I've burned all the
excess calories and then some! Good Luck!

Sorry to say, but sweets will go for you now where they went before, right
back to the stomach, hips and thighs. They are still high in fat,
calories, sugar ect. and will hinder the weight loss you could be having
without them.
