The Unexpected
Weight Loss Surgery is often a difficult path to take.
But so is Obesity.
Not everyone sails through the process without having problems. Some of the complications are severe and, unfortunately, death occurs sometimes.
We love our members and we always hope for the best for everyone. And that's what usually happens. But for those that have complications, or death occurs for your loved one, we wanted a place for you to tell your story. That helps some, sometimes.
We have to set some guidelines though. They are as follows, subject to change.
- Do not mention the doctors' or the hospitals' names in your article. That wouldn't be fair because complications happen to all at some time or other but, most of all, the legal implications for both you and us are unpredictable. So please don't do that.
- Please try not to post angry stories. If something happened to you or your loved one, we understand you may be angry and that's acceptable of course. However, we would like this forum to be informative and also supportive. By posting your story, you may hear from peers who will send you words of encouragement or praise or condolences.
- Do post all the medical details you are sure of.
- Do feel free to voice your opinions, remembering the first two points here.
- Your stories will be approved before appearing. If not approved, you will receive an e-mail. If you post a story, emailing our staff may speed up the approval process.
- For any other information or questions, please e-mail our staff.
