By having a diet low in protein, can ones memoglobin count be low?

Ia am 3 years post op. My beginning weight was 288 and now I currently weigh 142. However, i recently was diagnosed with having a low hemoblobin count. I was wondering whether or not a diet low in protein could cause this. I do not take any protein suppplements ony multivitamins.
