Has anyone experienced an Ileus?

I am 8 months post op, for a while now I have been having alot of back pain, but it wasn't until Wednesday that the pain got so severe I went to the doctor who then sent me to the ER. They said I had a Kidney stone and an Ileus. My kidney stone was so embedded they had to remove it surgically. I was told nothing by mouth until after surgery, my surgery never happened until Friday night and they expected me to eat Saturday morning and I just couldn't. I have never had a Kidney stone before and what is an Ileus? They drugged me up and then tried to tell me what an Ileus was. That wasn't wise, because I just kept asking until my family doc came to see me in Hospital and said that an Ileus is when the bowels stop working. She gave me suppositories and those didn't do anything. I came home Saturday morning all concerned about not being able to digest food. So, I made sure to eat something that I know makes me get the runs. I ate garlic toast with cheese spread and sure enough I got sick, but at least I know my system is working. However, I have been unable to eat anything at all without getting dumping. Like today I thought I would try a Salad and just after the second bite I got nauseus. I am really worried I am all screwed up. I don't want to go through anymore tests, I have been picked and prodded enough. I hope there is someone out there who has had a similar experience and can give me some info and hope.
