I am just starting to have back pain when I have been standing what should I do?
I have Tricare Prime and have been approved for 3 visits to see a surgeon. I have not been approved for the surgery. I, as of yet, have no comorbidities that I know of. I am young (29) and I am 276 and 5'7 3/4". My BMI is 43.1. I am just starting to have back problems when I stand for more than 20 minutes and I know its because of my weight. I have never had back problems before. Should I go see my PCP or should I wait to tell my surgeon. I go for my introduction on Monday 12/9/02 (I fly from Ketchikan, AK to Seattle, WA). My PCP has referred me to the surgeon, but I won't be seeing him before the new year. What do you think?? Should I just see the PCP and have her put it in my record? I couldn't take anything for the pain (nor would I want to) I have an addictive personaltiy and I am still nursing an infant (7.5mos). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
