Anyone out there with the same insurance and hospital as me?

I had my consultation at BTC in Wylie,Tx on Nov. 11. I have United Healthcare options PPO insurance. I called my insurance about five days ago and the lady said she didnt see anything from BTC asking for approval. How long does this take? I see where some people get approval in no time. Its been nearly a month and I havnt heard anything. I know every case is different. The lady in the doctors office said it could take up to 16 weeks to hear anything. I thought United was one of the faster approvals. What should I be doing now? How often should I call my insurance and check on the progress of this? Any input would be appreciated!
