I don't think I've ever been constipated in my life....however............

Yesterday I ate about 1/3 of cup of kidney beans with a little bit of cheese for dinner and about 2 or 3 hours later I was terribly sick to my stomach (it wasn't dumping---it happened too long after I ate). I then had dry heaves and excruciating cramps in my intestinal area for hours. I really thought that perhaps I had food poisoning or would end up going to the hospital, it was that bad. Finally I had a bowel movement and I started feeling some relief. Then I ended up taking a 1/2 of pain pill and tried sipping water...I went to sleep and this morning, while I still feel weak and little tired, I'm MUCH better. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience and whether or not symptoms this severe can be attributed to constipation. (I have to be candid and say that I'm almost 6 weeks post-op and getting my required protein is job enough, I haven't been concentrating on veggies too much, though I do try to eat at least one serving of fruit a day).
