should i inform surgeon of my recent rny?

i'm scheduled for a vein litigation (stripping)on sept 16th. The surgery will be performed under general anesthesia.Does anyone know if it is necessary to let the surgeon or anesthesiologist know of my rny surgery in may? I'm not sure what tubes they will be sticking down into my belly and if there is a danger of damage done to the pouch by them putting anything down my throat or not.......thanks so much.....
