What are the symptoms of sleep apnea?

I looked in the library and couldn't find the answer to my question. I'm not sure whether or not to be tested for sleep apnea, my surgeon does not require it and I'm not sure what I should be looking for. Thank you for your help and I hope not to bother anyone! :)
