Does anyone have a problem now after surgery, with dry mucous membranes?

I suffer from allergies and I have noticed that my nose especially is very dry. It hurts it is so dry most times. Just wondering if this is something to expect. If so does anyone know if over-the-counter saline might work and be safe?
