Has anyone had Hyalgan injection in knee for arthritis?

I am 11 months post-op open RNY and had arthroscopic surgery last week. The doctor found severe arthritis and wants to try Hyalgan injections once a week for five weeks. I was wondering if anyone out there has had these injections and if they helped. Any input is appreciated.
