Why can't a person who has the RYN eat and drink at he same time.

I sometimes get so thirsty at my meals. What is the reasons wy we have to wait a half hour after eatng before we can drink something? Does it have to do with weight loss? I have not heard all the detailsas why this is so important, anyone know all the reasons sure would like to know. .
