Will my insurance stay approve the surgery after I lose 10% of my weight as requested

My Dr. Pamela Foster of Standford as has a requirement that you you lose 10% of our weight before you'll do the surgery. With my current stats at 246 lbs and 5'5 tall and a BMI of 40.6, If I lose the weight I'll be 224 and a BMI of 38.6. HAS ANYONE LOST THE WEIGHT AND THEN BEEN TURNED DOWN BY INSURANCE? I have already been approved for the surgery through the Alavado Clinc in San Diego, but I want to stay closer to home. - PLEASE HELP - Thank you!
