My mother is 48 and her PCP feels that she is to old for WLS. Any thoughts?

I have my 1st appointment with the WLS surgeon in January and my mother has been giving it some though as well. She went to PCP the other day and she told her that she felt that she was too old for the surgery (she is 48). Any thoughts?
