Will allergies delay surgery?

I am allergic not to any meds but to dust, cats, and certain pollenating plants. Generally spring and summer are bad for me...and I may be having my surgery sometime this summer. Will it matter if I'm sneezing my head off from allergies? Or should I just pop benedryl like candy and pray for a easy time?
