What could be causing me to have a sweet taste in my mouth?

When I drink anything, eat or smoke it all tastes like it has sugar in it. It is getting really disgusting. I also wake up with dryed something on my lips. I am 18 months out. It has happened before and will last about 2 or 3 days.
